Quality Manager

Job Summary:
The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and improving the quality assurance processes within a heavy machinery manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all products meet internal and external quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The Quality Manager leads a team of quality professionals and collaborates cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement, reduce defects, and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and industry-specific standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
  • Monitor and report on key quality metrics, including scrap rates, rework, and customer complaints.
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality-related challenges.
  • Train and mentor quality staff and promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
  • Manage documentation related to inspections, testing, and certifications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality management within heavy machinery or industrial manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, SPC).
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
