Senior Controls & Automation Engineer

Location: Kenosha, Wisconsin

Salary: $110,000-$135,000 + 15% bonus

Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Controls & Automation Engineer to support engineering projects related to plant processes. This role involves managing equipment systems, training, quality control, and process effectiveness. You will collaborate with plant leadership to assess equipment needs for future manufacturing requirements and contribute to food safety and quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide controls and automation (C&A) project engineering leadership across all process areas within the facility.
  • Assist in identifying, evaluating, and selecting packaging automation hardware and software to meet current and future manufacturing needs.
  • Manage controls and automation interfaces, testing, quality control, data retrieval, and training for packaging and processing equipment.
  • Evaluate effectiveness and maintainability of new automation systems; oversee automation change processes for existing equipment.
  • Lead and develop the C&A team.
  • Participate in network-wide projects related to controls and automation.
  • Support and promote food safety and quality programs within the plant environment.

Qualifications:

  • Strong troubleshooting, implementation, and programming skills.
  • General knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC-5, SLC-500, MicroLogix, and ControlLogix hardware.
  • Proficiency in RSLogix5, RSLogix500, and RSLogix5000 software.
  • Understanding of Ethernet, Allen-Bradley Remote I/O, and DeviceNet communication networks.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
