Senior Director, Engineering
Position Overview:
As the Senior Director of Engineering, you will lead efforts to establish and uphold reliability benchmarks across multiple network locations. You'll collaborate closely with site leaders to drive performance metrics and enhance asset utilization. Additionally, you'll be responsible for overseeing capital projects within the operating unit, ensuring they are executed efficiently, on schedule, and within financial targets.

Key Responsibilities
Reliability Leadership
- Define and communicate reliability goals and standards across all network sites.
- Analyze current performance indicators (KPIs), identify gaps, and implement strategies to meet reliability targets.
- Maintain a strong on-site presence, partnering with reliability and maintenance managers to foster collaboration and drive improvements.
- Act as the executive sponsor for the Preventive Maintenance (PM) initiative, promoting best practices and alignment with the TPM Center of Excellence.
- Oversee reliability reporting and scorecards, using data to identify trends and prioritize improvement opportunities.
- Develop and manage asset strategies, including lifecycle planning and alignment with central standards.
- Lead the creation of long-term (5-10 year) asset plans and annual downtime budgets for maintenance and reliability.
Engineering & Capital Projects
- Serve as the primary engineering leader for capital projects within the operating unit (excluding Megacap initiatives).
- Take full ownership of capital project delivery-ensuring scope, cost, and timelines are met.
- Manage the capital budget and Capital Approval Request (CAR) process for the operating unit.
- Lead the Capital Review Board (CRB) and Technical Review Board (TRB) processes, ensuring compliance with central guidelines.
- Collaborate with site capital managers to develop business cases and apply value engineering principles.
- Create career development pathways for engineers, including rotational opportunities to build network-wide capabilities.
- Resolve project roadblocks and escalate issues as needed to maintain project momentum; implement a capital project scorecard and escalation framework.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with teams such as Procurement, Safety, Sustainability, Finance, and Process Engineering to ensure holistic planning and execution of capital investments.
- Directly manage capital investments ranging from $5M to $20M annually.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience, including hands-on work at manufacturing sites within operations.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
- Proven leadership in engineering across multiple locations.
- Experience overseeing maintenance programs and reliability initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop talent.
