Senior Injection Molding Engineer
DSJ Global is currently partnered with an industry leading nutraceuticals company who is looking to add a senior-level injection molding expert to their team. The Senior Injection Molding Engineer will be responsible for leading and optimizing injection molding operations within a high-volume, regulated manufacturing environment. This position focuses on process ownership, tooling performance, quality compliance, and continuous improvement while supporting production teams and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and optimize injection molding processes to achieve safety, quality, and efficiency targets
- Lead process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ), capability studies, and establish standard process documentation
- Apply scientific molding, DOE, and SPC techniques to reduce variation and improve product consistency
- Partner with quality and compliance teams to support audits and ensure adherence to regulatory and GMP standards
- Drive mold design improvements in collaboration with tooling vendors (cooling, gating, venting, materials)
- Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for molds and tooling
- Lead capital and continuous improvement projects including tooling launches, transfers, and equipment installations
- Provide hands-on technical support to production teams, troubleshooting molding equipment and processes
- Champion Lean/Six Sigma initiatives (DMAIC, kaizen, SMED) to improve flow and reduce waste
- Ensure accurate documentation including process sheets, control plans, SOPs, and maintenance records
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Plastics Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of injection molding experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Strong hands-on experience with tooling, mold maintenance, and process troubleshooting
- Demonstrated project management experience delivering technical initiatives on time
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., GMP)
