Senior Operations Manager
Our client, a leading manufacturing and retailer in the food and beverage manufacturing space, is seeking an experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead all planning, coordination, and execution of production operations within a high‑volume food manufacturing environment. This role focuses on driving operational excellence, developing strong leadership teams, and ensuring the highest levels of safety, quality, and reliability across the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all production activities to ensure safe, efficient, high‑quality operations.
- Drive continuous improvement by optimizing processes, equipment use, and department structure.
- Partner with safety, maintenance, sanitation, quality, and administrative teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
- Develop and mentor department leaders and front‑line teams to meet performance goals.
- Monitor production needs, staffing, and budgets; recommend improvements to policies and processes.
- Stay current on industry trends and customer requirements to inform operational decisions.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, regulatory, and internal quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Food Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in food & beverage manufacturing (dairy preferred)
- Previous experience in a superintendent, operations management, or similar mid‑level leadership role within a food manufacturing facility.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, SQF/BRC, GMPs).
- Demonstrated success leading Lean/CI initiatives; Six Sigma certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of automation and modern manufacturing technologies.
- Proven ability to lead large teams in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and change‑management skills.
