Senior Quality Control Manager - Food Safety & Compliance
A prominent food processing company is seeking a Senior Quality Control Manager to lead all quality control functions, oversee lab personnel, and ensure the facility meets the highest food safety and regulatory standards. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader committed to continuous improvement and maintaining a strong food safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily QC processes across production lines, ensuring all products meet established quality specifications, operational requirements, and compliance with HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Supervise and develop QC lab personnel, providing ongoing training, guidance, and support to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to testing protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Manage and review product testing programs, including microbiological, physical, and chemical testing, while evaluating results, identifying deviations, and making informed decisions to approve or reject raw materials and finished goods.
- Conduct and coordinate internal audits to verify compliance with quality and safety standards, support external regulatory and customer audits, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as needed.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and leadership teams to identify process improvements, reduce quality risks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
Qualifications
- HACCP certification (required).
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related discipline.
- 5-7+ years of experience in food production quality control or food safety, including leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and food safety systems, with the ability to lead teams and influence cross‑functional partners.
