About the Company
Our client is a leading global retail organisation with a strong international footprint across Asia Pacific. As part of its continued business growth, the company is seeking an experienced Senior Sourcing Specialist to drive category strategy, sourcing, and product development across its Personal Care and Cosmetics portfolio.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven buying professional who is passionate about beauty trends, product innovation, supplier management, and delivering category growth within a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category buying strategies for Personal Care and Cosmetics products across multiple markets.
- Manage the end-to-end buying cycle, including product selection, assortment planning, pricing, and supplier negotiations.
- Identify new product opportunities by monitoring consumer trends, market developments, and competitor activities.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with manufacturers, brand owners, OEM/ODM suppliers, and distributors globally.
- Lead supplier negotiations covering costing, MOQ, payment terms, product quality, and delivery schedules.
- Collaborate closely with Product Development, Quality, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Merchandising teams to ensure successful product launches.
- Analyze sales performance, margins, inventory levels, and market trends to optimize category profitability.
- Drive private label and exclusive product initiatives, from concept development through commercialization.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, product safety, and quality standards across relevant markets.
- Support seasonal range reviews, assortment planning, and business growth initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Marketing, Retail Management, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5-8 years of buying, category management, product sourcing within beauty, skincare, cosmetics, and personal care product categories with supplier base in SEA and China
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success in driving sales, margin improvement, and product innovation.
- Experience working with private label, OEM, and ODM manufacturing partners is highly advantageous.
- Fluency of English and Mandarin Chinese is a must
