Site Buyer - Indirect Procurement (MRO Focus)
Netherlands (On-site/Hybrid)

We are partnering with a leading chemical manufacturing business in the Netherlands that is looking to strengthen its procurement function with the addition of a Site Buyer focused on indirect spend, primarily MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations).

This is a key on-site role, supporting operational continuity while driving cost efficiency and supplier performance across a complex industrial environment.


The Role

As Site Buyer, you will take ownership of indirect procurement activities at plant level, with a strong focus on MRO categories. You will act as the interface between operations, maintenance, and suppliers-ensuring materials and services are sourced efficiently, competitively, and reliably.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end procurement of MRO and indirect spend for the site
  • Support maintenance and engineering teams with timely sourcing of critical parts and services
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive local sourcing initiatives
  • Build and manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring performance, quality, and reliability
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and service levels
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and processes
  • Collaborate with central/global procurement on category strategy alignment
  • Monitor stock levels and support inventory optimisation where relevant

Profile

  • Experience in procurement or purchasing within an industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environment
  • Strong exposure to MRO categories (e.g. spare parts, tooling, maintenance services, consumables)
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced, site-based role with multiple stakeholders
  • Solid negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams
  • Fluency in English; Dutch is a strong advantage
