Sr Electrical Engineer
Overview
This role is responsible for improving electrical reliability across the mill by identifying and resolving system issues, supporting outage planning, and partnering with Maintenance, Production, Leadership, Corporate Reliability, contractors, and subject‑matter experts to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of critical electrical systems
- Own and support systems including power distribution, transformers, switchgear, motors, UPS, VFDs, grounding, lighting, and portable electrical equipment
- Drive safety and reliability improvements through technical guidance, troubleshooting, and system redesign
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) efforts and develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
- Support and contribute to training programs focused on safe electrical work practices
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, and applicable industry standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering or industrial power systems
- Strong knowledge of transformers, power supplies, three‑phase systems, AC/DC motors, and protection schemes
- Experience with medium‑ and high‑voltage electrical systems
- Familiarity with PLCs, instrumentation, and CMMS platforms (SAP, JDE)
- Preferred experience with relay coordination studies and arc flash analysis
