Overview
A leading innovator in automotive and industrial manufacturing is seeking a Category Manager - Semiconductors to lead global sourcing strategies for critical semiconductor & electronic components. This role involves managing supplier relationships, driving cost optimization, and aligning procurement strategies with product and technology roadmaps. This role offers hybrid scheduling with 2 days onsite / 3 days remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement a global category strategy for semiconductor components, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives.
- Partner with engineering and product development teams to integrate sourcing considerations early in the design process.
- Lead initiatives for cost optimization, including value engineering and lifecycle management.
- Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships, focusing on performance, reliability, and cost competitiveness.
- Drive commercial negotiations and oversee contractual agreements to secure favorable terms and mitigate risk.
- Utilize data-driven insights and digital tools to enhance transparency and decision-making in procurement activities.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects aimed at improving supply chain resilience and operational efficiency.
- Support team development through mentoring and sharing best practices.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in semiconductor procurement and sourcing, ideally within the automotive industry
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven track record of success in supplier negotiations, cost management, and strategy execution.
- Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
