Team Engineer Lead

DSJ Global is partnered with a leading manufacturer of engineered thermal and energy systems with a strong reputation for innovation and product reliability. They are seeking an Engineering Team Lead to manage a sustaining engineering group responsible for maintaining, improving, and supporting existing products. This role blends technical leadership, hands‑on problem solving, and cross‑functional collaboration within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff supporting existing products and systems.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues, manufacturing challenges, and design improvements.
- Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting complex mechanical and electro‑mechanical systems.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Design, and Service teams to ensure product performance and reliability.
- Manage engineering change processes and technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support cost‑reduction initiatives, supplier transitions, and component obsolescence planning.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and internal processes.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across sustaining engineering activities.
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering roles supporting manufactured products.
- Background in complex mechanical systems (combustion, refrigeration, HVAC, or similar).
- Proven hands‑on troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical, communication, and people‑leadership skills.
- Proficiency with CAD tools and engineering documentation systems.
- Prior experience with line‑management responsibilities, including mentoring and conflict resolution.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience in HVAC, industrial equipment, or energy systems.
- Exposure to control systems (embedded controllers, PLCs).
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as UL, ANSI, ASHRAE, or AHRI.
- Project or program management experience.
