Tooling Manager
About the Opportunity
This role leads all tooling activities in a high‑volume automotive manufacturing environment. You'll manage tooling personnel, ensure tooling reliability through preventive maintenance, support production with troubleshooting, and improve tooling performance, quality, and safety. This position directly impacts uptime, cost, and manufacturability.
As The Tooling Manager You Will..
- Lead tooling team and maintain the plant's tooling PM system.
- Troubleshoot mold/tooling issues and support production operations.
- Oversee tooling projects, vendor management, and cost/timing targets.
- Validate incoming molds and design/approve fixtures or gauges.
- Drive improvements in tooling reliability, cycle time, ergonomics, and quality.
- Support documentation, FMEAs, corrective actions, and capital equipment needs.
As The Tooling Manager You Should Have..
- 5+ years Tool & Die experience in injection molding.
- Journeyman, engineering degree, or equivalent experience.
- Leadership experience managing tooling staff.
- Strong troubleshooting, blueprint reading, and PM knowledge.
- Organized, communicative, able to support hands‑on tooling work.
