Vice President of Operations Overview
Our Client seeking a strategic, results-driven Vice President of Operations to lead and optimize manufacturing performance across two plant locations. This executive will play a critical role in scaling operations, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring best-in-class performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
The VP of Operations will oversee all aspects of production and plant performance-aligning people, processes, and technology to consistently deliver products on schedule, within quality standards, and at optimal cost.
As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, this role will shape and execute long-term operational strategies that support growth, innovation, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Execution
- Provide executive leadership over multi-site manufacturing operations, ensuring consistent performance across both facilities
- Drive production excellence to meet or exceed throughput, quality, safety, and cost targets
- Establish and monitor KPIs, holding teams accountable for results and continuous improvement
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team including Plant Managers, Engineering, and IT leaders
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence across all functions
- Build organizational capability by aligning roles, responsibilities, and decision-making authority
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, Customer Service, HR, and Finance to align operational priorities with business objectives
- Ensure seamless communication and execution across departments to support customer satisfaction and business growth
Continuous Improvement & Strategy
- Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to drive productivity, efficiency, and profitability
- Identify and implement best practices, process improvements, and operational innovations
- Contribute to and execute the company's strategic growth and operational improvement initiatives
Facility & Process Optimization
- Oversee plant layout, workflow design, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and scalability
- Lead the evaluation, planning, and execution of capital projects and process improvements
- Ensure post-project reviews are conducted to validate ROI and operational impact
Financial & Cost Management
- Partner with leadership to oversee and continuously improve the costing system and financial performance of operations
- Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and operational integrity
What We're Looking For
- Proven executive-level experience leading multi-site manufacturing operations
- Track record of driving measurable improvements in productivity, cost, and performance
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence, inspire, and execute through others
- Expertise in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term vision and day-to-day execution
