Business Planner
Our client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Business Planner to support our retail and wholesale planning teams. This role is responsible for driving financial planning, sales forecasting, and inventory optimization to support business growth and profitability. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of retail and wholesale metrics, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage seasonal and annual financial plans, including sales, margin, and inventory targets.
- Partner with buyers and planners to align merchandise strategies with financial goals.
- Analyze sales trends, customer behavior, and market dynamics to inform planning decisions.
- Monitor in-season performance and recommend adjustments to maximize sales and minimize markdowns.
- Prepare and present business reviews and performance recaps to leadership.
- Support assortment planning, pricing strategies, and promotional planning.
- Collaborate with supply chain and allocation teams to ensure product availability and inventory health.
- Manage wholesale planning and forecasting for key retail partners such as Macy's, Dillard's, JCPenney, Kohl's, and similar department stores.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in retail planning, business analysis, or financial planning.
- Must have wholesale planning experience with major department stores (e.g., Macy's, Dillard's, JCPenney, Kohl's).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel and planning tools (e.g., JDA, Oracle, SAP).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
