Fermentation Process Engineering Manager
A leading manufacturer in the biotechnology, specialty ingredients, and process manufacturing space is seeking a Fermentation Process Engineering Manager to lead fermentation operations, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across a large-scale production environment.
This role will partner closely with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and R&D to improve manufacturing performance, support scale-up activities, and drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead fermentation process optimization and performance improvement initiatives.
- Drive increases in yield, throughput, reliability, and product quality.
- Support new product introductions, process scale-up, and commercialization activities.
- Collaborate with plant leadership to troubleshoot process issues and implement sustainable solutions.
- Lead continuous improvement projects and capital investments.
- Develop and mentor engineering and technical personnel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience supporting fermentation, bioprocessing, food & beverage, ingredients, specialty chemicals, industrial biotechnology, or related manufacturing operations.
- Experience with large-scale continuous or batch manufacturing processes.
- Strong background in process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Previous leadership experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
