Procurement Manager (M/F/D)
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to support a key client within the MedTech sector. This individual contributor role is focused on project-based purchasing, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, components, and services for critical product development and manufacturing initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial acumen, deep experience in technical procurement, and the ability to operate in a highly regulated environment.
Fluency in German is essential due to supplier, stakeholder, and regulatory interactions.
Key Responsibilities
Project Purchasing & Procurement Execution
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for assigned MedTech projects, from requirements analysis through to contract execution.
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for specialised components, engineering services, and production materials.
- Ensure timely material availability to meet project timelines, mitigating risks and bottlenecks.
- Work closely with R&D, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to align procurement activities with technical specifications and regulatory standards.
Supplier Management
- Develop and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers, ensuring performance, reliability, and adherence to quality requirements.
- Conduct negotiations on pricing, lead times, terms, and conditions to drive cost savings and value creation.
- Monitor supplier performance, conduct evaluations, and support corrective action plans when needed.
Commercial & Contractual Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage RFQs, supplier proposals, cost analyses, and procurement documentation.
- Support contract drafting and negotiations in line with corporate and regulatory compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, forecasts, and reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the procurement representative within project teams to ensure alignment and proactive communication.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and change management processes by forecasting procurement impacts and requirements.
- Ensure procurement processes meet relevant MedTech/ISO regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Mandatory
- Fluent German language skills (spoken & written).
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within MedTech, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or a similarly regulated environment.
- Strong background in project purchasing or procurement for technical/engineering projects.
- Excellent negotiation, supplier management, and commercial contract skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, highly cross-functional environment.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 or other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Experience working with global supply chains.
