Are you a driven and experienced Sales Manager with a passion for logistics and transport? Do you thrive on leading and motivating high-performing sales teams? Are you ready to develop and implement commercial strategies that drive growth and expand market share? Then we're looking for you to lead our Rotterdam-based sales team.
We are seeking a hands-on, strategic leader to manage a compact but ambitious team of 3-4 hunter-type salespeople. These professionals are focused on acquiring new business and building strong portfolios with larger customers. You'll lead by example, bringing in new business yourself and setting the tone for success.
Your Role
You'll be responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy for our Rotterdam office, with a strong focus on both import and export flows. You'll manage a team of internal and external sales professionals, and play a key role in expanding our customer base, maintaining international relationships, and driving sustainable revenue growth.
This role is office-based, with 2-3 days hybrid work and regular customer visits. You'll also represent the company at key industry events, such as the WCA Conference in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of 3-4 sales professionals
- Drive new business acquisition and expand existing accounts
- Focus on strategic import/export opportunities
- Oversee tender management and cost optimization
- Collaborate with sales teams in other branches
- Act as a key member of the local Management Team
- Report sales performance to senior leadership
Your Profile
- HBO-level education or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial roles within logistics
- Proven leadership in managing sales teams and winning strategic accounts
- Deep understanding of freight forwarding, warehousing, and multimodal logistics
- Strong commercial instincts and negotiation skills
- Experience in larger companies preferred
- Broad knowledge of international networks and partnerships
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Fluent in Dutch, English, and German (spoken and written)
