A leading global financial services group is looking to appoint a Indirect Procurement Director to take ownership of strategic sourcing across Technology, AI, and Operations-related categories. This is a high-impact regional leadership position focused on shaping supplier strategies that support digital innovation, operational excellence, and long-term business transformation.
Overseeing a substantial annual spend of approximately USD 100 million, this role sits at the intersection of procurement, technology, and business strategy. Rather than focusing purely on execution, the position plays a critical role in influencing upstream decision-making-driving commercially sound, scalable solutions while ensuring appropriate governance within a regulated operating environment.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across Technology and Business functions, guiding sourcing decisions that optimise cost, enhance delivery speed, and mitigate risk. This role also offers the opportunity to build and lead a strong procurement capability across Asia and contribute to broader organisational transformation.
Core Responsibilities
- Define and drive category strategies across Technology, AI, and Operations domains at a regional level
- Optimise value creation across a large and complex spend base through innovative commercial approaches, cost discipline, and supplier optimisation
- Engage with senior internal stakeholders to embed procurement into early-stage planning and investment decisions
- Lead high-value sourcing programs and complex negotiations, including cross-border and enterprise-level agreements
- Develop and mentor a regional team while coordinating effectively with global and shared services procurement functions
Key Requirements
- Extensive experience (15+ years) in procurement, strategic sourcing, or commercial leadership roles, ideally with exposure to Technology or digital-related categories
- Demonstrated capability managing or influencing large-scale spend portfolios (circa USD 100 million annually)
- Proven track record of driving commercial outcomes and value creation within regulated industries
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience partnering at a senior leadership level across multiple geographies
Desirable Experience
- Prior experience working across Asia with an understanding of regional market dynamics and cultural nuances
- Familiarity with matrix organisations and global procurement operating models
- Well-developed commercial judgement with a strong focus on risk management and governance
- Experience collaborating closely with Technology, Digital, or Operations leadership teams
