AVP Procurement Contracts Manager

Our client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Procurement Contracts Management to lead and optimize our contract lifecycle management processes. This role is critical in ensuring contractual compliance, mitigating risk, and fostering strong, value-driven supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in contract law, supplier negotiations, and operational efficiency, along with a proven track record of leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end contract lifecycle management process, including drafting, negotiation, execution, renewal, and termination of procurement contracts.
  • Develop and implement contract management strategies that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Business Units to ensure contractual compliance and mitigate legal and operational risks.
  • Drive supplier performance management through effective contract terms, service level agreements (SLAs), and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead supplier negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and conditions while maintaining strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce contract cycle times.
  • Maintain a centralized contract repository and ensure accurate documentation and version control.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to a team of contract managers and analysts.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in procurement and contract management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; JD or Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in procurement contract management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement regulations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations and managing complex, high-value contracts.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in contract management systems and procurement tools (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Icertis).
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
