AVP, Vendor Management Office

The AVP, Vendor Management Office (VMO) is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization's supplier performance and governance processes. This role plays a critical part in the procurement lifecycle by ensuring effective contract execution, mitigating third-party risk, and cultivating strong, value-driven relationships with key suppliers. The AVP will lead cross-functional efforts to enhance vendor accountability, compliance, and innovation while aligning supplier capabilities with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Governance & Performance Management

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive vendor governance framework.
    • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against SLAs, KPIs, and contractual obligations.
    • Lead regular business reviews with strategic suppliers to drive continuous improvement.
  • Risk Management & Compliance

    • Identify, assess, and mitigate third-party risks including operational, financial, regulatory, and reputational risks.
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
    • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to manage vendor audits and due diligence.
  • Strategic Relationship Management

    • Serve as the executive point of contact for high-impact vendors.
    • Foster collaborative partnerships to drive innovation, cost savings, and service excellence.
    • Negotiate and influence vendor terms to align with enterprise goals.
  • Process Optimization & Reporting

    • Drive process improvements across the vendor lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
    • Implement tools and dashboards for real-time vendor performance and risk reporting.
    • Provide executive-level reporting and insights to senior leadership.
  • Team Leadership & Development

    • Lead and mentor a team of vendor management professionals.
    • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or supply chain, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management, third-party risk, and supplier governance best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage complex vendor relationships and drive performance improvements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with vendor management systems (VMS), ERP platforms, and data analytics tools.
