- Analyze industry dynamics including pricing trends, emerging technologies, supplier capacity, and geopolitical risks.
- Lead the evaluation, onboarding, and segmentation of suppliers to build a reliable and competitive supply network.
- Structure multiyear supply agreements encompassing cost expectations, risk‑mitigation frameworks, and continuity plans.
Supplier Partnership & Performance Management
- Own supplier relationships with a focus on delivery reliability, product quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate supplier scorecards, operational reviews, and formal business updates.
- Collaborate with suppliers on improving manufacturability, yield performance, material availability, and lead‑time efficiency.
- Oversee proactive management of lifecycle shifts, PCN notifications, and end‑of‑life transitions.
Cost & Contract Governance
- Lead pricing discussions using cost‑modeling, competitive benchmarking, and market intelligence.
- Drive cost‑reduction programs targeting design efficiencies, material simplification, and value‑engineering opportunities.
- Manage cost structures across prototype, new‑product introduction, volume ramp, and sustaining phases.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering to ensure PCB designs support cost, manufacturability, supply stability, and long-term availability.
- Align with Operations and Supply Planning on forecast requirements, factory readiness, and capacity planning.
- Support new product builds by ensuring supplier preparedness for prototype, pilot, and high‑volume phases.
Risk Assessment & Continuity Planning
- Identify supply vulnerabilities such as single‑source exposure, capacity limitations, or geopolitical dependencies.
- Develop multi‑source strategies, alternate material plans, and mitigation actions to maintain supply security.
- Lead resolution of escalations related to shortages, supplier constraints, or critical delivery risks.
