Design Engineer II

DSJ Global is currently partnered with a leading agricultural machinery manufacturer who is seeking a Design Engineer II to join their Taylorville, IL facility. This role focuses on the design and development of innovative product lines for swine and poultry applications.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and design variations of current products to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop repeatable design procedures to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency.
  • Provide accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support farmers, customer service, manufacturing, and assembly.
  • Create 3D models and manufacturing/assembly drawings using Creo software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align designs with customer needs and cost targets.
  • Perform design calculations and simulations for product robustness and reliability.
  • Coordinate and execute testing on prototypes to validate performance and safety.
  • Support manufacturing and quality teams on ongoing production.
  • Apply prior product development knowledge to guide New Product Introduction and continuous improvement.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or related technical field.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in solid modeling and mechanical design best practices.
  • Experience with design documentation and structured development processes.
  • Track record of contributing to or leading product development from concept to production.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Azure DevOps, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • 5-10 years of experience in design/product engineering, sheet metal production, machining, and assembly.
  • Creo and Windchill experience required.
  • Experience with airflow/ventilation is a plus.
