Director, Strategic Contracts and Partnerships
A leading, highly innovative organization is seeking a Director, Strategic Contracts & Partnerships to drive the development and execution of complex business-to-business partnerships and commercial agreements.
This role will sit at the intersection of strategy, contracting, and emerging technology, leading deal structuring, negotiations, and partner ecosystem development to accelerate the organization's capabilities, product offerings, and go-to-market solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Strategy & Execution
- Build and execute a scalable framework for strategic B2B partnerships with third-party industry partners
- Identify, evaluate, and structure partnership opportunities that accelerate innovation and capability development
- Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with key partners, suppliers, and technology vendors
Contracting & Deal Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end deal lifecycle, including analysis, structuring, negotiation, and execution of complex agreements
- Negotiate a broad variety of partnership agreements across products, services, and emerging technology solutions
- Assess financial, operational, and intellectual capital implications of deals to drive optimal business outcomes
- Structure agreements that balance risk, value creation, and long-term strategic alignment
Emerging Technology & Innovation
- Lead contracting strategy supporting the development and commercialization of emerging technology products and solutions
- Partner with internal stakeholders to enable monetization of intellectual capital (IC) into scalable offerings
- Evaluate trends, technologies, and partnership models to inform future business and innovation strategies
Government & Regulated Contracting
- Lead negotiation and execution of agreements across both FAR-based and non-FAR environments (e.g., Other Transactions)
- Support development and commercialization efforts tied to U.S. Government programs and advanced technology initiatives
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, contractual, and organizational requirements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with business development, product, legal, and delivery teams to align contracting and partnership strategies
- Provide strategic input into market analysis, solution strategy, and channel development
- Influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across complex, matrixed organizations
Qualifications
Required
- 15+ years of experience in contracts, partnerships, deal structuring, or strategic sourcing/commercial leadership roles
- Proven experience evaluating, negotiating, and executing complex agreements across a variety of partnership structures
- Experience monetizing intellectual capital into products, services, or innovative offerings
- Strong knowledge of:
- Market analysis and solution strategy
- Partnering strategy and contract channel development
- Financial, risk, and value implications of commercial agreements
- Experience supporting government-related contracting environments, including FAR and non-FAR frameworks
- Bachelor's degree required
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with large technology, software, or manufacturing organizations
- Background negotiating agreements with startups or venture-backed companies
- Experience negotiating intellectual property (IP) agreements
- Experience supporting business development and delivery organizations
