EHS Engineer

Job Summary:
The EHS Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and promote a safe working environment within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role supports risk assessments, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives to minimize hazards and ensure operational sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Conduct safety audits, hazard analyses, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support chemical handling, waste management, and emergency response planning.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to integrate EHS best practices into processes.
  • Maintain EHS documentation, metrics, and reporting systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field.
  • 3+ years of EHS experience in chemical or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, industrial hygiene, and environmental compliance.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification in safety or environmental management (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is a plus.
