EHS Engineer
Job Summary:
The EHS Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and promote a safe working environment within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role supports risk assessments, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives to minimize hazards and ensure operational sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and enforce compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Conduct safety audits, hazard analyses, and environmental impact assessments.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support chemical handling, waste management, and emergency response planning.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to integrate EHS best practices into processes.
- Maintain EHS documentation, metrics, and reporting systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field.
- 3+ years of EHS experience in chemical or industrial manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, industrial hygiene, and environmental compliance.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in safety or environmental management (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is a plus.
