EHS Manager
Job Summary:
The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as corporate policies. This role plays a critical part in fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship at the oil and gas production facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain all required environmental permits and documentation.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks.
Health & Safety Programs:
- Develop and implement site-specific safety procedures and emergency response plans.
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; implement corrective actions.
- Conduct safety training and toolbox talks for all employees and contractors.
Environmental Management:
- Monitor emissions, waste disposal, and spill prevention measures.
- Oversee environmental impact assessments and sustainability initiatives.
- Manage hazardous materials and ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal.
Leadership & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for EHS matters with regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to integrate EHS into daily activities.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement and continuous improvement.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, training, and compliance activities.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory bodies and corporate leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of EHS experience in the oil and gas industry or a similar high-risk environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state EHS regulations.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar certification preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
