Facilities Engineering Manager
DSJ Global is currently partnering with a leading global aerospace supplier at their greater Los Angeles site on a Facilities Engineering Manager opportunity. This individual will oversee maintenance operations and personnel involved in equipment installation and repair. They will be responsible for developing and driving preventative maintenance programs and managing facilities modifications, while ensuring they are following EHS regulations.
This individual will need to be a strong leader, as they will be responsible for supervising a team, including hiring and training employees, as well as overseeing contractors working at the facility. They will also lead construction and installation projects within this manufacturing site.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct team members - primarily maintenance staff as well as contractors working on equipment upgrades and facility expansions.
- Responsible for managing team - from hiring and training, to assigning tasks, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Oversee equipment installations and repair. Analyze HVAC systems and lighting within the facility.
- Oversee facility modification projects - ex: planning, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Preform audits to support facility planning.
- Liaison with public environmental, utility, and energy agencies.
- Oversee facility layout and ensure floor is laid out in strategic / efficient manner.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to read and analyze engineering draws (mechanical, electrical, architectural).
- Experience working with industrial machinery - forming presses, CNC machinery, etc.
- Strong communication skills - written and verbal - to effectively communicate with team members at multiple levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to approach issues with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Working knowledge of U.B.C, U.P.C., and N.E.C. to ensure facility is running safely and in an environmentally conscious manner.
