Facilities Manager
A major player in the food manufacturing industry is looking to bring on a Facilities Manager to support one of their facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area. The primary responsibilities of this role include leading the planning, operation, and maintenance of facility infrastructure and utility systems, while ensuring regulatory compliance, cost-effective project execution, and team supervision. The role also involves managing capital projects, vendor relationships, and contributing to sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Location: San Francisco Bay Area (on-site)
Compensation: $135,000 - $160,000
On-site: M-F
The Facilities Manager will have the following responsibilities:
- Plan and manage facility infrastructure including utilities, power distribution, HVAC, refrigeration, steam, and compressed air systems to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
- Oversee capital projects related to facilities and infrastructure, including budgeting, scope development, execution, and contractor management for projects exceeding $3MM.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with all local, state, federal, and company standards, including AIB/FDA requirements.
- Lead and supervise facility teams, including utilities technicians, and provide training on policies, procedures, and technical systems.
- Manage vendor relationships, including selection, performance evaluation, and coordination of service and maintenance contractors.
- Support sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives by contributing technical expertise in utility systems and participating in process improvement teams.
- Maintain master facility plans and oversee the upkeep of buildings and grounds to support long-term operational goals.
The Facilities Manager will have the following skillset:
- Educational background in Engineering or a related field, with 6+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Industry experience in FDA-regulated environments, preferably in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Proven leadership in supervising technicians and managing capital projects over $300K, with the ability to work effectively in unionized settings.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to engage across all organizational levels and departments.
- Technical proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and ERP systems, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
