Position Overview:
The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring the efficient production of packaging products, and leading a team of dedicated employees. This role will require a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Plant Manager will play a key role in optimizing production efficiency, maintaining product quality, and driving cost-effective strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day plant operations, including production, quality control, maintenance, and safety.
- Oversee and lead a team of supervisors, operators, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Implement and monitor production schedules to meet customer demands while ensuring optimal utilization of resources.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring cost control and waste reduction while maximizing profitability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, cost-saving measures, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Work closely with other departments such as logistics, sales, and customer service to ensure timely delivery of products and customer satisfaction.
- Analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track plant performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Foster a culture of safety, conducting regular training sessions and safety audits to ensure a safe working environment.
- Lead recruitment, training, and development efforts to build and maintain a highly skilled and motivated workforce.
- Resolve production challenges and implement solutions to minimize downtime and disruptions.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on plant performance, budget status, and operational issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant management or manufacturing leadership roles within the packaging industry.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and packaging machinery.
- Proven track record of successfully managing plant operations, meeting production goals, and driving continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Expertise in safety compliance, regulatory standards, and environmental practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in using plant management software and other related tools (ERP systems, MS Office, etc.).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.
