Salary: $130,000-$150,000
A fast-growing manufacturer in Nutraceutical products is seeking a Process Engineering Manager to oversee scale-up and process development initiatives for its expanding product portfolio. This is a strategic, manager-level role based in Groton, CT, with hybrid flexibility and relocation support for qualified candidates.
The Senior R&D Process Engineer will be responsible for:
- R&D, scale-up and method development / refinement
- Translate bench-top formulations into commercial-scale production
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, and senior leadership to support product innovation and launch readiness
- Act as expert in process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
- Troubleshooting complex process challenges and implementing continuous improvement strategies.
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to long-term technical capability development.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Nutraceutical/Food & Beverage product development, with a strong focus on process engineering and scale-up.
- 3+ years of leadership experience
- Proven success in launching products from bench to commercial scale in regulated environments.
- Experience working with co-manufacturers and pilot plant operations.
- Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% for trials, audits, and supplier visits.
