Job Title: Procurement Manager - Automation Machinery

Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a strategic and results-driven Procurement Manager to lead sourcing and procurement activities for our automation machinery manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing procurement and hands-on experience with SAP ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business goals and production schedules.
- Source and evaluate suppliers for mechanical, electrical, and automation components.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure optimal value and risk mitigation.
- Monitor supplier performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure material specifications and delivery timelines are met.
- Manage procurement planning, purchase orders, and inventory levels using SAP MM and related modules.
- Analyze market trends and cost drivers to identify savings opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead or support new product introduction (NPI) sourcing activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 5-7 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automation or industrial machinery.
- Proficient in SAP ERP (MM module required; BI or Ariba a plus).
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Must have management experience
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with global sourcing and supplier development.
- Familiarity with technical drawings and specifications.
- Understanding of logistics, customs, and import/export regulations.
