Location: Morris County, NJ
Salary: $86,000 - $110,000 + 8% bonus
Summary:
A reputable food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior R&D Process Engineer for their Morris County, NJ facility.
Responsibilities:
The ideal Senior R&D Process Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
- Lead technical work across multiple R&D projects, collaborating with marketing and manufacturing teams while communicating progress, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Plan and execute process development activities, including process design, modeling and simulation, pilot‑plant scale‑up, factory trials, and commissioning in compliance with GMP and HACCP standards.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize consumer‑centric process specifications, ensuring robust process performance and alignment with equipment design and manufacturing capabilities.
- Analyze technical data, prepare reports, and use insights to influence cross‑functional decision‑making, manage technical risks, and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage internal and external resources, including external agencies and technical communities, while contributing to intellectual property development that strengthens competitive advantage.
Qualifications
The ideal Senior R&D Process Engineer will have the following skill set:
- Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Food Science, or Food Tech
- 4+ years of being in a GMP - related manufacturing environment
- 4+ years of process engineering experience
- 4+ years of experience with scale-up/pilot plant project management
