Role Overview
The Packaging Designer will be responsible for developing innovative folding carton concepts that balance creativity with production feasibility. From initial sketches to final prototypes, this individual will lead the structural design process, collaborating across departments to ensure timely delivery of accurate, high-quality packaging solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and prototype folding carton packaging using CAD and Artios, ensuring alignment with client needs and production capabilities.
- Translate customer requirements into functional, cost-effective packaging structures.
- Conduct market and material research to inform design decisions and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Operate and maintain sample cutting tables and manage CAD files with precision.
- Convert sketches and concepts into 2D/3D models using cutting tools and display technologies.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and production teams to ensure expectations are met and exceeded.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Deep understanding of structural packaging design and techniques.
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience in packaging design, preferably with folding cartons.
- Proficiency in Artios CAD, Microsoft Excel, and Word; familiarity with Esko software (Cape Pack, WebCenter) and Adobe applications is a plus.
- Experience operating sample cutting tables and working with various file formats for printing and die orders.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and with clients.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
