This is a 12-month contract position.
Position Summary:
The Turnaround Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of plant turnarounds (shutdowns, outages, and major maintenance events) to ensure safety, efficiency, and minimal disruption to operations. This role is critical in maintaining asset integrity, regulatory compliance, and production reliability in a chemical manufacturing environment.
As the Turnaround Manager, you will:
- Lead the development and execution of turnaround strategies, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including maintenance, engineering, procurement, safety, and operations.
- Ensure all turnaround activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Manage contractor selection, onboarding, and performance during turnaround events.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines and cost targets.
- Conduct post-turnaround reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain detailed documentation and reporting throughout the turnaround lifecycle.
The Turnaround Manager should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in maintenance, operations, or project management in the chemical or process industry.
- Proven experience managing large-scale turnarounds or shutdowns.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical integrity, reliability practices, and regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, EPA, PSM).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in turnaround planning tools and CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Primavera).
