3rd Shift Production Manager

This position is a plant leadership role focused on driving manufacturing excellence, lean operations, and overall performance improvement. The Superintendent leads frontline supervisors/area leaders and is accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.


🔑 Core Responsibilities

1. Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a safe, clean work environment
  • Immediately address safety issues and non-compliance
  • Support initiatives like Injury Free Event (IFE) and H.P. programs

2. Operational Excellence

  • Improve manufacturing planning, execution, and discipline
  • Ensure strong delivery performance and cycle time reduction
  • Conduct capacity analysis and standard work optimization
  • Manage key performance metrics:
    • Quality
    • Productivity
    • Cycle time
    • Delivery
    • Cash flow

3. Lean Manufacturing Leadership

  • Lead ABS / Lean initiatives
  • Identify and eliminate non-value-added waste
  • Reduce WIP (Work in Progress) and improve product flow
  • Apply tools like OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and constraint management

4. Leadership & People Development

  • Direct and develop:
    • Area leaders
    • Supervisors
    • Cell facilitators
  • Drive team training and growth
  • Cascade goals across the organization

5. Financial & Strategic Accountability

  • Manage departmental budgets
  • Drive cost reduction and profitability
  • Support strategic planning and goal alignment with business unit objectives

6. Cross-Functional & Customer Engagement

  • Collaborate with engineering to improve processes and quality
  • Maintain strong customer relationships
  • Communicate effectively with:
    • Staff
    • Customers
    • Leadership teams

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • 5+ years of lean manufacturing experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)
  • Ability to access export-controlled materials
