Utility & Energy Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Utility & Energy Engineer to join our engineering team at one of our key production facilities. This role focuses on driving energy efficiency, environmental utility improvements, and ensuring compliance with ISO 50001 standards. You will collaborate cross-functionally to enhance process reliability and sustainability across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Drive the execution of utility and energy strategies, ensuring systems-both legacy and newly installed-are continuously assessed and refined using the PDCA methodology.
- Spearhead initiatives that enhance operational performance or extend the functional lifespan of essential assets and infrastructure.
- Oversee negotiations and contractual arrangements for outsourced services, technical equipment, and material supplies.
- Launch and manage capital investment projects (CAPEX) aimed at advancing energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
- Track and communicate progress to maintain alignment with ISO 50001 standards and certification requirements.
- Create and maintain a long-term maintenance strategy that informs future CAPEX planning and major asset replacements.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Holds a degree in Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (HBO level or equivalent).
- Is fluent in English; proficiency in German is advantageous.
- Has a solid understanding of relevant standards, regulations, and utility systems.
- Demonstrates leadership capabilities and a collaborative, people-oriented approach.
- Is experienced in Reliability Excellence and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP.
