The Design Engineer will be responsible for…
- Designing, developing, and configuring product variations to meet customer-specific requirements
- Developing and maintaining standardized engineering and design procedures to improve efficiency and consistency
- Generating accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing and order fulfillment
- Creating detailed 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation using CAD software
- Collaborating cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, sales, and customers to incorporate product requirements into new and existing designs
- Evaluating designs for manufacturability, cost, performance, safety, and overall product reliability
- Performing engineering calculations, analysis, and simulations to validate product functionality
- Supporting prototype builds, product testing, and validation activities
- Contributing to New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Investigating field issues and implementing design improvements based on lessons learned
The Design Engineer should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Agricultural, Biological, or related Engineering discipline
- 1+ years of engineering experience within product design, product development, or manufacturing environments
- Experience taking products from concept through production release
- Strong experience with 3D CAD software (Creo experience preferred)
- Familiarity with PLM systems and engineering documentation processes is a plus
- Knowledge of structural design, engineering calculations, and applicable industry standards is a plus
- Experience with analysis and simulation tools such as Mathcad, MATLAB, RISA, or similar software is a plus
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or desire to obtain licensure is a plus
