This role offers the opportunity to lead mechanical design and product development initiatives from concept through production while working across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys leading projects, and can balance multiple priorities while driving results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical component and system design from concept to production
- Drive new product development projects and technical decision-making
- Translate customer and market requirements into engineering solutions
- Own engineering releases, BOMs, technical documentation, and design reviews
- Develop designs using PTC Creo and collaborate with suppliers on component validation
- Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Conduct benchmarking, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional project execution
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 7+ years of product development or mechanical design experience
- Experience designing products for manufacturing environments
- Strong project leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred
- Experience within vehicle, transportation, automotive, powersports, heavy equipment, or similar industries
- Experience with PTC Creo, FEA, DFMEA, APQP, DFM, and structured problem-solving methodologies
- Knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes (injection molding, thermoforming, extrusion, blow molding) and metal fabrication processes (stamping, welding, die casting, extrusion)
