Project Manager
Overview
An engineering-focused HVAC organization specializing in energy-efficient and sustainable building solutions is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager / Applications Engineer. This role combines HVAC engineering, applications support, technical project management, and direct client interaction.
You'll manage multiple concurrent projects while working closely with clients, internal engineering teams, and equipment vendors to ensure HVAC systems and products are properly specified, selected, documented, and delivered.
What You'll Do
- Manage multiple HVAC projects and technical deliverables simultaneously.
- Review construction documents, plans, specifications, and equipment selections.
- Generate and respond to RFIs.
- Review and develop shop drawings, product information, material data, and related submittals.
- Evaluate HVAC products and confirm they are appropriate for the intended application.
- Support pre-construction and project management activities.
- Assist clients and internal engineers with equipment selection and pricing.
- Review HVAC control sequences and support system operations.
- Collaborate directly with equipment vendors on project-specific solutions.
- Attend customer meetings and jobsite visits as required.
- Maintain project documentation and provide necessary information to accounting.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and applications.
- HVAC system design experience preferred.
- Understanding of heat transfer and psychrometrics.
- Ability to interpret construction documents and technical specifications.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Valid driver's license and ability to attend customer and jobsite meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
- HVAC consulting experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE), EIT, or FE credential.
- Energy modeling experience.
- Broad knowledge of HVAC system types.
- Experience selecting and applying HVAC equipment.
