Overview: Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director of Procurement for North America to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in managing global supplier contracts within the aerospace industry. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in procurement, supplier management, and contract negotiation. The Director of Procurement will be responsible for overseeing procurement activities, ensuring the highest standards of quality, cost-efficiency, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Procurement Management: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for supplier contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier contracts and procurement activities.
- Cost Management: Drive cost-saving initiatives and ensure procurement activities are within budget.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 8-10 procurement professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Travel: Willingness to travel at least 30% of the time to meet with suppliers and attend industry events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in procurement, with a focus on the aerospace industry.
- Proven track record in managing global supplier contracts.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to travel at least 30% of the time.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
