A leading regional electric distribution utility serving 180,000+ homes and businesses is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead and modernize its entire safety, health, environmental, and corporate security program. With best-in-region reliability and a strong investment in smart-grid, fiber, and mobile workforce technology, this is a high-visibility leadership role reporting into executive management.
What You'll Do
- Lead, manage, and continuously improve all company-wide EHS programs, policies, and initiatives to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the organization's subject matter expert on OSHA, NESC, DOT, NPGA, NFPA, and related regulations, representing the company with governing authorities.
- Direct accident/near-miss investigations using Root Cause Analysis and translate findings into training, work-method, and policy improvements.
- Conduct safety audits and assessments, develop Emergency Action Plans, and coordinate with local emergency services.
- Own safety reporting, KPI tracking, recordkeeping, and submissions to government entities.
- Manage and develop the Safety team and occupational health/safety consultants; maintain a visible presence across work locations.
- Oversee corporate security, fire, and life-safety systems, plus the company's disability management program.
What You'll Bring
- 7-10 years of related EHS experience; electric utility experience highly preferred (fiber, oil, or gas also considered).
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Business, Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field - or equivalent experience.
- Deep working knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage compliance audits, and drive results through others.
- Preferred certifications: Certified Utility Safety Professional/Administrator, Advanced Safety Certificate, First Aid/CPR.
