About the Company

A leading global manufacturing organization is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives at a large scale industrial production facility. This individual will play a key role in air permitting, emissions compliance, environmental management systems, and continuous improvement efforts while partnering with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to drive environmental excellence.

The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for…

  • Managing air emissions compliance programs and ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Monitoring, analyzing, documenting, and reporting emissions data to maintain permit compliance.
  • Preparing and supporting environmental permit applications, renewals, and regulatory submissions, including Title V reporting requirements.
  • Maintaining environmental management systems, emissions inventories, compliance records, and reporting programs.
  • Utilizing digital tools and technology to improve environmental inspections, compliance monitoring, sampling, and reporting activities.
  • Supporting stack testing, emissions inventories, and environmental performance evaluations.
  • Partnering with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize air pollution control equipment and improve environmental performance.
  • Identifying environmental risks and implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Providing technical guidance regarding environmental regulations, permit requirements, and compliance obligations.
  • Serving as a key contact during environmental audits, inspections, and interactions with regulatory agencies.
  • Managing environmental contractors and supporting environmental aspects of capital and construction projects.
  • Assisting with environmental training initiatives and promoting environmental stewardship throughout the facility.
  • Supporting enterprise-wide environmental programs, standardization efforts, and best practice implementation.

The Environmental Engineer will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Engineering or environmental compliance experience within a manufacturing, industrial, military, or similarly regulated environment.
  • Experience supporting air permitting, emissions reporting, and environmental compliance programs.
  • Knowledge of air quality regulations including Clean Air Act, NESHAP, MACT, and Title V permitting.
  • Experience with CEMS/DAS and environmental monitoring systems preferred.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies, audits, and environmental inspections.
  • Understanding of air pollution control equipment and emissions reduction technologies.
  • Strong analytical, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in pulp & paper, forest products, chemical, energy, or other heavy manufacturing industries preferred.
