Electrical & Instrumentation Designer - Engineering & Reliability Team

A leading global manufacturer in the polyester industry is seeking a motivated Electrical and Instrumentation Designer to join its South Carolina facility. This role supports the Engineering & Reliability team and reports to the Mechanical Integrity Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, construction, and maintenance of electrical power and instrumentation systems.
  • Create and revise drawings using Bentley MicroStation (P&IDs, Power Plans, Single Line Diagrams).
  • Select and size electrical and instrumentation components.
  • Develop specifications, bills of materials, and data sheets.
  • Provide project control tools: scopes of work, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders.
  • Conduct field walk-downs and prepare as-built documentation.
  • Interface with vendors to stay current on technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong safety awareness and communication skills.
  • High School Diploma/GED and either an Associate's Degree or 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in low voltage electrical design (up to 1000 VAC).
  • Proficiency or ability to quickly learn Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Bentley MicroStation, and tsaADVET (Falcon).
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70 and National Electric Safety Code.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime, weekends, and travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with DeviceNet, Delta V DCS, and multi-discipline projects.
