Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager
A leading innovator in the food safety and preservation industry is seeking a talented individual to lead the Quality Assurance team. Reporting directly to the Regional Quality Assurance Manager, this role is crucial to the plant leadership team and will play a key role in driving quality initiatives across the organization.
Quality Assurance Manager Responsibilities:
- Promote a top-tier quality and food safety culture.
- Solve and improve current quality issues.
- Develop and maintain KPIs, SOPs, best practices, and processes for an effective quality assurance program.
- Manage documentation and registers.
- Collaborate with other departments (Quality, Plant Leadership, Maintenance, Safety) to align quality schedules.
- Hold regular quality meetings for alignment.
- Ensure quality schedules meet production goals and maintenance needs.
- Address strategic and operational challenges using quantitative analysis for profitability, supply chain, transportation, network design, inventory management, and warehousing.
- Apply industry best practices to align company policies and procedures.
- Participate in audits to uphold best practices and company standards.
- Operate urgently in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
- Ensure safety requirements for procedures and materials.
Ideal Quality Assurance Manager Candidate Skill Set:
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or similar technical field.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in quality assurance.
- A minimum of 5 years of QA experience, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.
- Experience in maintaining documentation and registers.
- Experience with HACCP/HARPC programs.
- Leadership or people management experience.
- Experience in food production, food processing, CPG, or similar regulated industries.
- Understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and PCQI.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and similar regulatory standards.
- LEAN/Six Sigma certifications (a plus).
- Proven success in quality audits.
- Root-cause analysis experience.
