Food Safety and Quality Supervisor
A growing Ready-to-Eat (RTE) food production facility is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead quality and safety initiatives on the production floor. This hands-on leadership role is essential to maintaining compliance with food safety regulations and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Systems & Compliance
- Develop and implement inspection, testing, and evaluation protocols for food safety and quality.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, SQF, PCQI, FDA, USDA, and GMP standards.
- Manage the Material Review Area to ensure timely disposition and release of products.
- Maintain calibration schedules and oversee distribution of measuring equipment.
Team Leadership
- Supervise QA technicians, providing guidance, support, and performance coaching.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Motivate and assist team members in resolving operational challenges.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with internal departments and trainers to develop and deliver effective training programs.
- Coordinate with other supervisors to align departmental activities and ensure smooth operations.
Continuous Improvement & Safety
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality.
- Report safety incidents and promote safe work practices across the team.
- Maintain hygiene standards in accordance with company, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred; Associate degree with strong experience will be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in food safety or quality assurance, ideally in an RTE environment.
- Certifications in HACCP, SQF, and PCQI required.
