FSQA Director
FSQA Director required for leading Food Manufacturer:
- Food Safety/Quality Assurance Director
- Collingswood, NJ
- $130,000 - $140,000 per year
The FSQA Director will have the following responsibilities:
- Lead development, implementation, and maintenance of the SQF System, including Food Safety and Food Quality Plans
- Ensure integrity of the SQF System and communicate essential information to relevant personnel
- Stay current with and implement new government regulations, customer requirements, and regulatory standards
- Enforce USDA regulations and international requirements for exported products
- Maintain and update HACCP-SQF systems and prerequisite programs
- Coordinate all types of audits: internal, third-party, second-party, customer, and international
- Serve as Mock Recall, Food Defense, and Traceback Coordinator
- Manage labeling and nutritional information for new products
- Oversee contracted sanitation services
- Lead food safety and hygiene training for all employees
- Handle customer complaints related to food safety and quality
- Conduct HACCP-SQF verifications and issue corrective action reports post-audits
- Ensure timely updates and corrections following regulatory changes
- Perform annual reviews and updates of HACCP-SQF programs
- Conduct microbiological analysis to determine product shelf life and report findings
- Ensure product labels meet regulatory compliance
- Guarantee production of safe, high-quality food products in line with company, customer, and regulatory standards
- Act as Certified SQF Practitioner
- Perform other related duties as needed
The ideal FSQA Director candidate will have the following skillset:
- Certified SQF Practitioner (required).
- HACCP Certification with demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining HACCP-based food safety and quality plans
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive quality assurance experience in the food manufacturing industry, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Direct experience in a USDA-regulated food manufacturing facility (required)
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field
- Formal training in Internal Auditing
- Strong knowledge of USDA regulations, as well as applicable state and federal food safety standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Datahex systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-functioning team environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to workforce safety
