FSQA Manager
A well-established food production facility in Reno, NV is seeking an experienced FSQA Manager to lead its Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and Sanitation teams. This role is ideal for a proactive leader with a strong background in food manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Quality and Sanitation departments, setting clear goals and fostering a culture of accountability and development.
- Ensure timely review and approval of production records, SOPs/SSOPs, investigations, corrective actions, change controls, and technical documentation.
- Assign and communicate priorities to direct reports, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards.
- Lead or support investigations of non-conformances, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure audit readiness and lead facility audits to GFSI standards (e.g., SQF, BRC).
- Perform other duties as needed to support operational and quality excellence.
Qualifications:
- Experience in the food & beverage manufacturing industry
- Bachelor's in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a direct management/supervisory function.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and quality management systems (e.g., SQF, BRC, USDA, FDA, Organic, etc.).
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Demonstrated success in leading GFSI-certified audits and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
