Quality Manager
Overview:
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading quality assurance and control activities within an aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines while driving continuous improvement in product and process quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems in accordance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer specifications.
- Lead internal and external audits, corrective actions, and root cause analyses.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Manage inspection and testing protocols for incoming materials, in-process production, and final products.
- Monitor quality metrics and report performance to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with defense-related regulations and documentation requirements (e.g., ITAR, DFARS).
- Train and mentor quality personnel to uphold high standards of performance and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in quality management within aerospace or defense manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO standards, and defense industry compliance.
- Experience with quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, PPAP, and Six Sigma.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Certifications such as CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
