A leading biotechnology organization is seeking a Logistics Engineer to join its Global Distribution Packaging & Shipping Qualification team. This is a high-impact role responsible for supporting global cold chain and distribution packaging initiatives, ensuring temperature-controlled products are delivered safely, compliantly, and efficiently across a complex international supply chain. This opportunity offers exposure to innovative technologies, global operations, and cross-functional collaboration across logistics, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead distribution and cold chain improvement projects focused on enhancing operational capabilities and implementing new technologies.
- Design, develop, test, and implement distribution packaging solutions supporting clinical and commercial products.
- Develop shipping qualification strategies, protocols, and reports to support global product distribution requirements.
- Manage external vendors, supplier relationships, and qualification activities to ensure performance and compliance.
- Support temperature monitoring strategies, product launches, tech transfers, and shipping qualification programs.
- Partner with Quality, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to drive successful project execution.
- Lead testing, lane validation, and packaging qualification activities to ensure product integrity throughout distribution.
- Support audits, regulatory inspections, investigations, CAPAs, and change control activities.
- Provide technical guidance on cold chain best practices, transportation regulations, and distribution packaging standards.
- Lead cross-functional meetings, communicate project updates, and mentor junior team members and contractors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Packaging Science, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics engineering, packaging engineering, cold chain operations, or supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of temperature-controlled logistics, transportation systems, and packaging qualification.
- Experience working within regulated environments such as pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other GMP-regulated industries.
- Knowledge of shipping qualification, distribution testing, ASTM/ISTA standards, and global supply chain regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and technical writing skills.
- Experience managing suppliers and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior leadership.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
