Maintenance Manager - Hot Rolling Mill

Location: Shreveport, LA

About the Opportunity

Join a leading steel manufacturing organization as a Maintenance Manager supporting a Hot Rolling Mill operation. This leadership role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, maintenance excellence, outage planning, and the development of a high-performing maintenance organization in a complex industrial manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage all Hot Rolling Mill maintenance operations.
  • Supervise salaried and hourly maintenance personnel, including supervisors, planners, and electrical/mechanical technicians.
  • Drive a strong safety culture and enforce plant safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop employee performance, training, and succession plans.
  • Reduce downtime and maintenance costs through predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Lead outage, shutdown, and downtime planning across maintenance, operations, engineering, tooling, and infrastructure teams.
  • Improve maintenance systems, processes, and reporting through CMMS utilization (SAP PM preferred).
  • Manage maintenance budgets, scheduling, forecasting, and cost controls.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, service providers, and refurbishment partners.
  • Lead equipment improvement, replacement, and reliability projects.

What You'll Bring

  • High school diploma required; technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of maintenance leadership experience within heavy industrial manufacturing.
  • Strong experience leading large maintenance organizations.
  • Background in outage planning, equipment installations, and capital projects.
  • Experience with maintenance management systems such as SAP PM.
  • Knowledge of mechanical drive systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, electronics, and PLC fundamentals.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
