Position Overview

A leading packaging manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Manager to provide leadership and technical expertise for plant maintenance operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe maintenance, repair, and reliability of plant assets while driving continuous improvement initiatives that support high-quality, efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for all maintenance and reliability activities.
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term maintenance strategies to improve equipment performance and operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain a proactive maintenance program utilizing industry best practices to maximize uptime and reliability.
  • Lead safety initiatives and establish departmental safety goals to maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Supervise maintenance personnel and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established standards.
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs and use performance data to drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Track and improve key metrics related to safety, reliability, environmental performance, and cost effectiveness.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and maintenance business planning activities.
  • Drive equipment reliability programs and promote best practices throughout the facility.
  • Partner with plant leadership to align maintenance objectives with overall business goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, production, engineering, and other departments.
  • Support labor relations activities and maintain positive working relationships within a unionized environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, state, and federal safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor maintenance personnel to achieve operational excellence.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts and implement sustainable corrective actions to improve plant performance.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and preventative/predictive maintenance programs.
  • Experience leading maintenance teams in a high-volume manufacturing operation.
  • Knowledge of CMMS platforms, maintenance systems, and industrial controls.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, DCS systems, and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • Experience working in a union manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proven ability to analyze performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
